When addressed, plastic receives much scrutiny for its permanence. Regardless of the context, there is almost certainly a negative implication. However, without the material, we would be unable to maintain the same lives of sterility, protection, convenience, pleasure, and leisure.
There are six main types of plastic: polyetheylene (PE), high density polyethylene (HDPE), low density polyethylene (LDPE), polyvinyl chloride (PVC), polystyrene (PS), and polypropyelene (PP). Each of these chemical makeups is optimized for different types of use.
This website serves as an ongoing catalog of plastic, aiming to bring awareness to the material as a wonder of mankind. With a greater appreciation, we can move towards a greater awareness of the material and begin to cherish objects of permanance.
